REAL FITNESS TRAINING'S Trader Joe's Finds & Favorites

If you follow any of the RFT coaches on Instagram, you know we LOVE shopping at Trader Joe’s!

Shopping at Trader Joe’s just feels more fun than a regular grocery store! Is it the employees’ Hawaiian shirts? The creative products? Their complete dedication to all-things-pumpkin every Fall?

I mean - who can pick just one thing they love about Trader Joe’s!? NOT US. So, we made a list for you…

“What are your favorites from Trader Joe’s?”

We get this question from clients all the time, so we finally put together a list of our faves!

We polled our STRONGER TOGETHER Training Club members, and all the RFT coaches pitched in to compile a list of things we’re currently buying and loving at TJ’s.

Trader Joe’s has some staple items we’ve been buying for years, but they also have seasonal and limited release products that aren’t available year-round. We’ll do our best to keep this list updated, but keep in mind that availability may vary based on location and seasonal availability.



  • Avocados - TJ’s tends to have the best quality avo’s compared to other stores!

  • Bagged salad kits

  • Dressing - i.e. Almond Butter Turmeric, Spicy Peanut, etc.

  • Pre-chopped veggies - butternut squash, cauliflower, mirepoix, stir fry mix, etc.

  • Pre-cooked veggies - beets, lentils

  • Shredded kale

NOTE: This is not the only produce we buy at Trader Joe’s. These are just the items that are unique to Trader Joe’s. We buy plenty of other produce items at TJ’s like apples, berries, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. but you can find those anywhere!


  • Basil, kale, cashew pesto

  • Bruschetta

  • Cheese - feta, chèvre, honey chèvre, unexpected cheddar, gorgonzola, and smoked gouda are some of our favorites

  • Chicken breasts - pre-cooked Lemon Pepper or Balsamic Rosemary Chicken Breasts

  • Chicken sausage

  • Egg whites

  • 2% Greek yogurt

  • Hummus

  • Icelandic Skyr yogurt

  • Organic half & half (for coffee!)

  • Unsweetened almond milk


  • Avocado Green Goddess Dressing

  • Avocado Cilantro Dressing

  • Bloody Mary Salsa

  • Champagne Pear Vinaigrette

  • Champagne Vinegar

  • Coconut Aminos

  • Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette

  • Green Dragon hot sauce

  • Peach Salsa

  • Sriracha


  • Berries

  • Brown rice

  • Cauliflower rice

  • Cauliflower Stir Fry

  • Chili Lime Burgers

  • Fire-roasted Peppers and Onions

  • Mini Frittatas

  • Mushroom Medley

  • Roasted Potatoes

  • Quinoa

  • Salmon

  • Shrimp

  • Shrimp burgers

  • Turkey Meatballs

  • Veggies - i.e. artichoke hearts, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, roasted corn


  • Peanut and Almond Butter (we like the raw crunchy unsweetened one!)

  • Canned beans: garbanzo, kidney, black, refried, white beans, etc.

  • Canned wild salmon

  • CHOMPS meat sticks

  • Cocoa Powder

  • Epic bars

  • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

  • Everything But The Elote Seasoning

  • Nuts - go for the plain ones, not the sugar-coated flavored ones or trail mixes!

  • Organic Breakfast Blend Coffee

  • Peanut Butter (team crunchy salted PB here…)

  • Peanut Butter Powder - we love this in smoothies!

  • Protein Bars - to find bars that are fat loss-friendly, use our Label Rule HERE

  • Pumpkin Pie Spice

  • Sunflower Seed butter

  • Umami Seasoning

  • Unsweetened Apple Sauce - great for healthier baking!
